Student working on a project

Overview

Train to construct and repair buildings and other structures made of wood, wood substitutes, steel, and other materials.

Carpenters work in many areas of construction, including residential, commercial, industrial, and maintenance projects. Most carpenters are involved in reading blueprints, selecting materials and methods of work, measuring, cutting, and joining materials.

This program covers all course material received by a first-year carpenter apprentice, plus additional hands-on skills and safety training necessary to work on a job site. The program will prepare students to enter the workforce and become an apprentice.

It’s a great introduction to carpentry even with no background knowledge of the program/course.
