Dual-Credit Early Childhood Education

Overview

This course bundle offers a comprehensive introduction to early childhood education, focusing on supporting the full development of children across cognitive, social, and emotional domains. Students will explore best practices, child development theories, and the importance of creating safe, inclusive learning environments. With a focus on diverse perspectives, this bundle helps students develop a personal philosophy of education that fosters children’s growth to their full potential.

  • to be playful, sensitive, and caring toward children
  • initiative and enthusiasm
  • resilience, persistence, and the ability to regulate your emotions
  • critical-thinking skills
  • to model respectful behaviour and language
  • to prioritize ethical decision-making and practice
  • consistent, positive strategies to guide children's behaviour.

Co-requisite requirements

In order to be successful in this SAIT dual-credit offering, students should be in their grade 11 or 12 years of high school and need to be on track to successfully pass the following course(s) or equivalent(s) with an overall average of at least 65%:

  • English Language Arts 30-1 or 30-2.

There may be other pre-requisite or co-requisites required by the school board for admission into this dual-credit program. Check with your local school board for further information.
