The exact amount you pay in tuition and fees depends on:
- your citizenship status (international student vs domestic student),
- your program, and
- the number of courses you’re taking.
2024/25 tuition and fees
SAIT has reviewed its tuition and fees for 2024/25 in comparison to local, national, and international programs. Find out what's changed with tuition and fees for 2024/25.
These costs are effective as of July 1, 2024.
In addition to your tuition, you will also need to pay ancillary or mandatory SAIT and Saitsa fees.
Review the domestic and international fee tables to find your tuition amount per course and to learn more about your mandatory fees.
You can also view individual programs for an estimate of the total cost per year based on the recommended schedule of study.
Tuition payment and deadlines
Tuition and fees are payable after you choose your classes. Please make a note of the following when paying your tuition and fees:
- You must have your financing in place and have paid your tuition by the applicable deadline.
- Tuition for full-time programs is paid on a semester-by-semester basis.
- Pay early enough through your preferred online payment option for your funds to appear in your account by the tuition deadline.
- If your tuition payment is not received by the deadline, you'll be dismissed from SAIT and may be responsible for the full fees owed. If your registration is cancelled for non-payment and you wish to be reinstated, an $80 reinstatement fee may be added to your tuition.

Protect yourself
Don't fall for scams promising scholarships or payment deals that seem too good to be true.
- Verify legitimacy: Check our official communication platforms, including our website and application portals, to confirm the offer is real.
- Be skeptical: Don't trust unsolicited offers. Legitimate scholarships are usually advertised through official channels.
- Never pay upfront: Legitimate scholarships don't ask for fees upfront. Avoid any requests for payment or personal information.
Fee exemptions and opt-outs
Eligible students may be able to opt out of the UPass, campus recreation and/or the SAIT Student Association (Saitsa) Health and Dental Fees.
The Saitsa health and dental plan, administered through Campus Trust, provides coverage for certain medical and dental needs.
You may be eligible for health and dental coverage if you're:
- an international student OR
- a domestic student enrolled in at least nine credits in an eligible SAIT program.
Review Saitsa benefits to learn more, including the opt-out/family add-on periods.
Eligible students can opt out of UPass and/or campus recreation fees on the first business day of the month prior to the start of each semester.
To be eligible for an exemption:
- Campus recreation: all your courses are fully online, and you reside 100 km or farther from the main campus.
- UPass: you are enrolled in nine credits or more per semester, and all your courses are fully online.
Full payment for tuition and fees or approval for student loan funding must be applied to your account.
Fee exemption requests will be denied if you are cancelled for non-pay and reinstated after the application submission deadline.
Please note the following important information:
-
According to Calgary Transit's UPass contract, you cannot opt out of the UPass fee if you qualify for a low-income bus pass.
-
Exemptions to both fees continue to be available for students with a physical/mobility or other valid disability-related concern. You must be registered with Accessibility Services and/or have a Calgary Transit Access Pass. Please contact Accessibility Services for more information.
Fee exemption requests can only be submitted during the application period for the appropriate term. Refer to the table below for fee exemption periods in the current and/or upcoming academic year.

Oki, Âba wathtech, Danit'ada, Tawnshi, Hello.
SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.
We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
