The Bissett Bursary Program will cover tuition and mandatory fees for recipients while they attend SAIT (Universal Transit Pass, Student Association and SAIT Athletics memberships, and Student Health and Dental Coverage).
Once enrolled, SAIT will connect these students with a dedicated student advisor to support their academic success. Students' progress is monitored throughout their program. Students who maintain their grades through their first year of studies will be eligible for funding for the second year of their studies.
Selection and criteria
Students are chosen for the program based on the following:
- demonstrated financial need,
- community involvement,
- career planning,
- academic success in high school,
- youth 24 and under,
- no previous post-secondary education, current SAIT students are not eligible,
- domestic applicant from Calgary, AB, and the surrounding area (no further than one hour outside of city limits),
- Interested in a SAIT diploma, certificate or pre-employment program. Apprenticeship and degree programs are not eligible.
Applications are assessed once per term and will be reviewed the week following the application deadline.

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.
We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
