🚉 CTrain station closure this weekend

Calgary Transit is closing the CTrain stations between Sunnyside and University to cut power to that section of the track and safely carry out work on a number of projects, including maintenance in the Crowchild and 19 St NW tunnels and work on the overhead catenary system at SAIT/AUArts/Jubilee Station.

The closure will begin at 2 am, Friday, April 18 and end by start of service on Monday, April 21.

Red Line CTrain replacement shuttle bus stops will be set up at SAIT:

  • The northbound stop for travel towards Tuscany Station is located at NB 14 St NW @ 14 Ave NW.
  • The southbound stop for travel towards Somerset-Bridlewood Station is at SB 14 St NW @ 14 Ave NW.

See the Red Line replacement shuttle stop map for SAIT/AUArts/Jubilee Station and the shuttle route map. Please note the shuttles will run up to Brentwood, though the closure ends at University.

Full closure and service disruption details will be posted on the Calgary Transit website and there will be signage and messaging on the digital displays at the CTrain station.

❎ Vote on campus at our special federal election polling station

SAIT is hosting a special federal election poll where you can cast your vote before election day. This special poll allows any elector to cast their vote in any federal electoral district in Canada in which they are a registered voter, including any Calgary district.

From April 14 to 16, from 9 am – 9 pm, vote on campus in Heritage Hall classrooms AA117 and AA119.

You must show valid identification before voting. If you do not have ID, you can still vote — find out how.

If you are from another region of Canada and are living in residence, but you would would prefer to vote in SAIT’s electoral district, you must complete a Letter of Residence and have it signed by a Residence Services administrator.

Oki, Âba wathtech, Danit'ada, Tawnshi, Hello.

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.

We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
