A great location in the heart of Calgary
SAIT's central campus boasts some of the best views in Calgary and provides easy access to the rest of the city.
The LRT/CTrain (Calgary Public Transit) is a skip, hop and jump away from SAIT Residence and will give you access to Kensington, Downtown, the Calgary Tower and the Stampede Grounds. We're also a short distance from the Calgary International Airport — only a 17km drive.
Several nearby grocery stores, restaurants, cinemas and shopping centres are easily accessible, including several food services on campus.
Finally, all your classes, labs and the Reg Erhardt Library are minutes away!
Individual rental agreements and all-inclusive utilities
Living in SAIT Residence, you'll only sign a contract for your bedroom and the common area. Unlike renting in the community, this means you're only financially responsible for your rent and are not liable for your roommates' rent.
In addition, all utilities, including electricity, water, gas and internet, are included in your Residence fees.
SAIT provides wireless Internet to all residents.
However, you must bring your network card and cables for wired service. You will need a 10/100 network card and a network cable to plug into the Internet. The exact type of network card will vary depending on the type of computer you have. Network printers are not provided.
All residents can access streaming services using the wi-fi included in their fees. The cost of the streaming service is extra and at your own expense.
SAIT Residence does not supply televisions or cable in any of the units.
You can subscribe to cable at your own expense by contacting SHAW. Alterations of any description to phone connections, cable outlets and electrical installations are not permitted. Installing satellites, aerials or any other device on the exterior of the building is prohibited.
Residents are not permitted to cut wires, boreholes or make any other changes within the residence. Any unauthorized services or equipment may be removed by Management at the resident's expense without notice or liability.
All residents are subject to the Institution's and/or Service Provider's current Internet, cable and telephone enrolment and usage policies.
Vibrant residence community
Our staff is dedicated to serving your needs and arranging social and educational activities to help you meet other students.
Our Resident Advisors (RAs) organize many fun residency programs and activities, and our common areas make great study spaces or social lounges.
We also boast:
A yoga studio
Our 11th-floor yoga studio in the Begin Tower hosts bi-weekly yoga classes for anyone to join free of charge.
Schedules are posted on each floor's bulletin board. Classes include restorative yoga - a chance for you to relax and renew your mind, body and spirit - and flow yoga - designed to build on your balance, inner strength and energy.
Cardio rooms
Our two cardio rooms are outfitted with treadmills, elliptical trainers and stationary bikes. Water is provided, and there are sanitizing wipes for when you finish your workout.
One room is located on the 12th floor of the Begin Tower, and the other is in the basement of East Hall. Both are free to use for all residents.
Art studio
We have a wonderful art studio in the basement of the East Hall residence building, open from 8 am - 11 pm daily.
24-hour customer service and security
Our customer service desk is open seven days a week, 24 hours a day, located in the Begin Tower residence building.
Several items are available at the Begin Tower front desk, including vacuums, brooms, plungers and games room equipment.
Ensuring students' safety is our priority, and we take it very seriously. The SAIT Residence team works closely with Campus Security to create a safe and secure living environment.
SAIT Residence and campus security work together to provide:
- 24/7 emergency response to alarms, accidents and unusual activity
- monitored security cameras
- daily and nightly security patrols
- all items that are found at SAIT Residence are taken to SAIT security for holding
- on-site Residence staff who perform rounds of the Residence buildings at night and deal with any issues.
On-site maintenance
Do you have a dripping tap, burned-out light bulb, clogged drain or a window or door that isn't closing correctly?
The SAIT Residence maintenance staff is here to quickly and safely deal with any maintenance issues.
Maintenance concerns can be easily reported online by signing in to your SAIT Residence account. Requests are reviewed and prioritized daily from 10 am to 4 pm, Monday to Friday.
The front desk, your Residence Advisor or Campus Security are a phone call away should you require an emergency repair (major water leak, loss of heat, etc.)
A few final perks

Mail is delivered daily to the Residence Office and can be picked up from your mailbox in the lobby. Each resident is issued a mailbox with a mailbox key.

Packages from Purolator, UPS and Canada Post are accepted and scanned, and an email is sent to let you know your package arrived. The office will only release your package to you with a valid ID.
Mail can be addressed to:

Using the mysparkle app, you'll be able to view which machines are currently available in our laundry rooms*.
*SAIT Residence recommends you remain in the laundry room while your clothes are in the washer or dryer. SAIT Residence is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged personal belongings, no matter the cause.
Parking
Parking is available for students living in residence, and you can use your SAIT eCARD to pay for this service.
On-campus parking is available through the parking office in the Senator Burns Building. There are a limited number of spaces for sale, so residents are recommended to make arrangements for the purchase of parking passes early.

Student Life
Oki, Âba wathtech, Danit'ada, Tawnshi, Hello.
SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.
We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
