At SAIT, we understand that the path to success isn’t always smooth. You might face academic challenges, personal struggles, or feeling like something’s not quite right. Whatever the issue, you don’t have to face it alone — SAIT has a range of support resources ready to help.

One key resource is Early Support, a referral system that connects you with the right support at the right time. Your instructors can use Early Support to refer you if they notice you might need some extra help. You can also refer yourself or access support resources directly. This way, small bumps in the road can be addressed before they turn into bigger challenges.

We're here to help you succeed — every step of the way.

What’s in it for you?

Early Support is designed to help you thrive, not just academically but in every part of your student journey.

By connecting with the right support through Early Support, you can:

  • Stay on track: With timely support, you’re less likely to encounter academic probation and more likely to feel in control of your progress.
  • Strengthen your academic performance: Personalized resources and guidance can help you achieve your best in your courses.
  • Feel more supported: Challenges are easier to face when you know someone’s got your back. Early Support connects you to people and tools that can make a real difference.
  • Build confidence and focus: Reducing stress and finding solutions early lets you focus on what matters — your goals, your growth, and your success.

Rest assured, Early Alert is completely confidential and protected under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP). Referrals are meant to support you and will never negatively affect your academic record or appear on your transcript.

What happens when you’ve been referred?

After an Early Support referral, you'll receive an email from your academic advisor with helpful resources and an invitation to book an appointment with an advisor.

Your appointment is your space to share, ask questions, and explore your options. We’re here to listen and guide you to the right support. After we meet, we’ll send you a follow-up email summarizing the resources we discussed, along with any additional information that might be helpful. We’ll also check in later to make sure you have everything you need to succeed.

Oki, Âba wathtech, Danit'ada, Tawnshi, Hello.

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.

We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
