Dr. U-Din teaches in the BA and BBA Financial Services streams and has been at SAIT since 2021.
He passionately believes in sharing one’s knowledge with others and enjoys guiding students for their future careers and growth in the financial services industry.
Education
Dr. U-Din has an MBA, M.Sc. in Finance and PhD in Banking and Finance. He has also secured certifications in various professional areas, including the BME at IFSE Canada, CFP, PFP, and CPH (Canadian Securities Institute).
Professional accomplishments
Dr. U-Din is a proud recipient of the Massey University Doctoral Scholarship and Dean’s Merit Award. He is associated with Financial Planning Canada, the Canadian Economic Association, and the Financial Management Association in areas of research and development.
His research areas are banking efficiency, sustainable finance, investment, and corporate governance. His research has been presented at global conferences and published in reputable journals. The conferences include the Annual Canadian Economic Association Conference and European Financial Management Association Conference, and the journals include the Journal of Economic Studies and the International Journal of Finance and Economics.

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.
We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
