Life at SAIT
Raphael joined the School of Business in 2023, bringing his expertise in Entrepreneurship, Macroeconomics, and Supply Chain Management to the classroom. His mission is to empower students to achieve their full potential, fostering an environment of meaningful networking, lifelong learning, adaptability, and resilience. In his classes, students can expect to learn valuable skills in project management, start-up management, complex negotiations, sales, relationship building, and global partnerships.
Outside work, Raphael is a travel, food, family, boxing and aikido enthusiast.
Education
A graduate in Business Administration with a Marketing specialization from Rio de Janeiro Federal University, Raphael earned an MBA in International Commerce, Operations, and Finance from the Institute of Management Foundation, Brazil. Additionally, he holds a professional master’s in economics and management from Université Pierre Mendès France. He is also Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certified.
Professional Accomplishments
Having worked in industry for 18 years both as manager and entrepreneur, Raphael fully understands the importance of applied learning. His broad background and expertise span the education, consultancy and corporate sectors across 4 countries where he served in various executive roles. He has extensive experience in teaching and lecturing at world-renowned universities, including Getulio Vargas Foundation (Brazil) and Université Pierre Mendès France (France). Additionally, he has enriched his portfolio by serving as a guest speaker at institutions such as the University of Calgary and The University of British Columbia in Canada, and contributed as a member of the supply chain program advisory committee at Bow Valley College.

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.
We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
