Natasha Hemraj

Life at SAIT

Natasha teaches in the BA and BBA Accounting streams and has been with SAIT since 2013.

In 2017, she took the initiative to create and deliver the applied audit class, which has since become a sought-after course for students aiming to pursue their designation through the public practice route after graduation. Natasha’s dedication to providing practical knowledge and guidance to her students has earned her a reputation as a respected mentor in the accounting community.

She has actively contributed to enhancing the accounting degree program. She led the PQA study in 2015, demonstrating her commitment to maintaining high education standards. She continued her involvement by serving as a faculty member of the PQA self-study team in 2022, contributing to the ongoing improvement of the program.

This year, she pioneered the first-ever Accounting Gala at SAIT. This platform allows 1st year accounting students to gain insights into their future career prospects by engaging with industry professionals and alumni.

Education

Natasha holds a bachelor's degree in accounting and a master's in finance and accounting. She has further solidified her expertise by obtaining the Chartered Accountant Designation in 2010.

Professional accomplishments

Natasha has continued to mentor and coach the next generation of CPAs. From 2014 and 2022, she served as CPA Prep, CPA Appeals and CPA PEP instructor to thousands of future CPAs.

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.

We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
