Life at SAIT
Joy teaches in the Administrative Information Management, Office Professional, BBA and BA programs and has been at SAIT since 2018. She also previously taught courses in the Energy Asset Management program.
At SAIT, she has leveraged her wide industry experience to create applied learning experiences for students. Joy facilitates group discussions and class activities in her classes and utilizes professional networks to organize guest speaker series, company site visits and industry panels to enhance students' understanding of working for industry.
She is a faculty advisor for Enactus SAIT and AIM/OFPR student associations. She is also working with the Study Abroad team to develop the 2024 Gen Exchange Project Management experience.
Education
She has a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering (Environmental Engineering focus) and a master's degree in international business. She is professionally accredited as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) and a Project Management Professional (PMP). She is also an Enactus Canada John Dobson Fellow.
Professional accomplishments
In her extraordinary career, Joy has worked for renowned organizations such as ExxonMobil, ConocoPhillips and Cenovus Energy. She has served in various roles, including Operations Management Systems Consultant, Project Manager and Controls Engineer. Joy also founded Five Rocks Services, which provides various consulting and career development services to individuals and organizations specializing in project management and oil and gas business. She also founded the Asian Professional Networks of Calgary, a community network of professionals with a vision to enhance the presence and influence of diverse and inclusive leaders.

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.
We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
