Life at SAIT

Harry joined SAIT in 2018 and teaches in the BA and BBA Financial Services stream. 

Harry was the recipient of the 2019 CISCO Chair Award at SAIT and used his funding to blend two business finance courses and connect them to external licensing exams. He also explored the development of a new course that covered the impacts of IT, AI and BlockChain on financial services. Most recently, he was the proud recipient of the Olympia Trust Donation funds which he is using for curriculum development in the AI and Natural Language Processing (NLP) field. The research encompasses AI based workbooks within the finance specialization and is applicable across 3 courses in the Financial Services stream. 

Education

He has a B.Sc. in Computer Engineering and an MBA (Finance Specialization). He continues to be a dedicated advocate and practitioner of lifelong learning, completing executive programs in FinTech and AI for Business at Harvard and MIT. Harry is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), and Canadian Securities Course (CSC) certified.

Professional accomplishments

As an instructor, Harry continues to maintain industry exposure. He is Head of Research at Coinbench Investments. This private company researches decentralized finance technologies and invests in public/private organizations utilizing AI to engineer system-level changes. He also consults for the National Judicial Institute. He has previously worked as a Product Manager at ICICI Securities Limited and Corporate Trainer at ATB Financial. He is currently the founder of two web-based companies (Bitbox and EduFinWizards) that offer peer-to-peer bitcoin exchange services and financial education.

He is also an official TED Talker and presented on the ABCs of the Future.

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.

We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
