Life at SAIT
As Associate Dean, Academic Excellence, for the School of Business, Gursher leads the school’s academic division by setting strategic initiatives that drive academic progression, faculty development and student success. As a passionate advocate for self-growth, Gursher fully embraces SAIT’s mission to prepare students for successful careers and lives.
To students, Gursher says that 21st century organizations look for well-rounded individuals who are curious, critical, creative, community focused and collaborative. He believes that embracing the entire post-secondary experience within and outside of the classroom is the way forward.
Outside of work, Gursher is passionate about physical wellbeing, coaching, basketball, and entrepreneurship. He has served on the Calgary Catholic Immigration Society Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee.
Education
Gursher has a master's in organizational leadership from Nova Southeastern University, as well as two bachelor’s degrees (Education and Kinesiology) from the University of Calgary. He is PROSCI (Change Management) Certified and attended Stanford’s School for Design Thinking in Teaching and Learning.
Professional Accomplishments
Gursher has been at the School of Business since 2007. At SAIT, he served as faculty member, Academic Chair for the Year 1 BA Diploma program, and Academic Chair for Management and HR (BA and BBA). As a seasoned leader, coach, and mentor, Gursher has been an unwavering driver of continuous improvement, creativity, tenacity, and innovation.
Prior to joining SAIT, Gursher taught Science, Math, Physical Education and Forensics at George McDougall High School.

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.
We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
