Life at SAIT 

Ashish joined the School of Business in 2018 and teaches AIM, Finance and Management courses, including Business Productivity Tools and Technology, Finance for Managers, and Managing Strategically. With a passion for interactive and engaging teaching, Ashish ensures his classes are dynamic, thought provoking and relevant to the workforce. He believes that participation and interaction are the cornerstones of effective learning, encouraging students to stay curious and actively involved. Ashish’s teaching style is characterized by a commitment to include the latest industry trends and technologies in class discussions and activities, all with the intent to prepare students for the realities of the modern business world.

Ashish has an adventurous spirit and is currently learning ice hockey. He frequently participates in soccer camps and is also an avid biker. He finds joy in sports which he believes offer timely lessons that can be replicated in the professional world.

Education and certifications

Ashish holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance from Adelphi University, where he co-founded both the Accounting Society and the Finance Society. His bachelor’s studies were in Electronics Engineering from Amity School of Engineering & Technology, India. Ashish has earned certifications from the Canadian Securities Institute in technical analysis, as well as advanced Microsoft Office certifications, including Microsoft Certified Educator, Xero Accounting Certification, and Financial Modelling

Professional Accomplishments 

Ashish has a rich and diverse background that spans Finance, Risk Management, Invesment management, and Corporate Training. He began his career in New York, working as an analyst at Publishers Clearing House and interning in financial analysis roles at companies like 1800flowers.com and Capital Securities of America. Upon returning to India, he took on roles at Barclays and Bank of America, specializing in training and analytics. His experiences in these high-paced environments cultivated a passion for teaching and mentoring, which

he continued to develop through volunteer work with immigrant support organizations in Calgary such as the Calgary Catholic Immigration Society and Immigrant Services Calgary.

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.

We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
