Sonia's education includes a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Bachelor of Education, both with distinction and a Master of Arts in English. Sonia has taught in Academic Services at SAIT for the past 15 years.
Other engagements include teaching English at The University of Calgary and Bow Valley College and the junior high and high school levels. In addition to teaching, Sonia has extensive experience in curriculum development and design and has developed several courses, including four degree courses.
Sonia also gained professional experience in the field of business when she worked in programming and marketing for The City of Calgary for seven years.

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.
We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
