Centre for Innovation and Research in
Advanced Manufacturing and Materials

Elevating innovation.

As one of the four research centres within the Applied Research and Innovation Services department, the Centre for Innovation and Research in Advanced Manufacturing and Materials (CIRAMM) is committed to propelling innovation across diverse industries by fostering cutting-edge digital manufacturing technologies and pioneering solutions in novel materials.

Our labs

Our state-of-the-art facilities are equipped with world-class tools and machinery to help realize your possibilities. Our network of researchers are well-versed in the facilities' equipment in order to maximize your opportunity

Advanced Manufacturing

As our main manufacturing, machining, and industrial shop, this well-equipped lab allows us to fabricate, machine, or tailor one-off parts specific to your project requirements.

Advanced Materials Characterization

This lab is equipt with highly advanced instruments and machines meant to identify, visualize and summarize the qualities or condition of materials related to our projects.

Intelligent Design and Additive Manufacturing Lab

Our investigators specialize in printing 3D components with innovative, lightweight materials. It also permits our investigators to scan and analyze existing pieces for reproduction.

Robotics and Automation Lab

This specialized lab focuses on the utilization of robotics or automated solutions for the creation and production of project-related assets.

Oki, Âba wathtech, Danit'ada, Tawnshi, Hello.

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.

We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
