Three ways to support students on Giving Day
Giving Day is an opportunity for the SAIT community — students, alumni, donors and employees — to come together to create a future that is better, inclusive, innovative and full of community spirit for the next generation of students. The seventh annual Giving Day kicks off on Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2023, at 10 am and will include many different opportunities to show your support.
Below are the top three ways you can get involved with SAIT Giving Day and help a student grow.
1. Spread the word
Be part of the spirit of philanthropy by telling others about Giving Day. Boost the message with the help of our social media toolkit. Or, share your story: tell us why giving is important to you or how someone else’s kindness and generosity has impacted your life.
#SAITGIVES = Impact on Oct. 17 and 18
Follow @SAITAlumni on Instagram as we countdown to Giving Day!
Here's how you can make a difference:
- Keep an eye out for our featured #SAITGIVES post on October 16.
- Comment or tag a friend on the post.
- Help us reach 200 comments and tags.
When we hit that goal, we will DOUBLE the groceries available at the next Saitsa Tedi Food Market!
Thank you to Enbridge for their support of this challenge.
2. Make a gift
Whatever amount you can donate, $5 or $50 or $500, your gift will help improve the student experience through accessible supports and funds.
There are four ways you can give to the area of support you care about most:
⭐ Pro tip: When you make a minimum $5 gift through SAIT, you will receive a charitable tax receipt for the value of your donation.
Give online 💻
Make a gift in real-time, whether you choose to donate today or save your support for Giving Day. Visit sait.ca/givingday and click “give now” to support an area of importance to you.
Give by phone ☎️
If online donations aren’t your thing and you prefer to talk to someone about your options, call 403.774.5214.
New this year - Text to give! 📱
Text SAIT to 20222 and you will be prompted to donate $5 or $10 for student food security.
Donna Lambert, SAIT Manager of Advancement Services and Student Awards will personally match all texted gifts up to $1,000, doubling your impact for students.
Give by mail 💌
Donations can also be made by mail. You can send a one-time gift via cheque or money order payable to the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology or sign up for a monthly gift with your void cheque.

⭐ Pro Tip: To ensure your gift is recorded on Giving Day, your envelope must be received on or postmarked by Oct. 18, 2023.
3. Engage in a challenge
Over 24 hours, our SAIT community will have the opportunity to help multiply student funds and enter for a chance to win a prize through different Giving Day challenges.
⭐ Pro Tip: Anyone can make an impact on the lives of SAIT students. Build your own community of philanthropy among your friends, family or coworkers by inspiring them with your own participation in a challenge or inviting them to join in.
Oki, Âba wathtech, Danit'ada, Tawnshi, Hello.
SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.
We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
