Onisokumeni Daniel Osah
Information Systems Security – School for Advanced Digital Technology
Onisokumeni was born in Lagos, Nigeria and grew up in Canada. He started his post-secondary journey by earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2022. After graduation, Onisokumeni decided a career in science wasn’t right for him. He’d always had an interest in tinkering with computers and started researching web development and UX design before starting SAIT’s Information Systems Security diploma program in 2023.
While at SAIT, Onisokumeni dove into campus culture and community — tutoring fellow students and acting as vice chair for SAIT’s IEEE student board. In the next few years, Onisokumeni plans to grow his career in cybersecurity with the goal to build momentum and pursue excellence.
What advice do you have for students to succeed?
Take advantage of SAIT’s many industry events, as they help build confidence, expand your network and improve your communication skills in ways that lectures and certifications can’t. Engaging with professionals also gives you a clearer career path and prepares you for future challenges.
What was your favorite thing about being a student #HereAtSAIT?
Presenting my capstone project to students, instructors and industry professionals was my favorite experience. I started planning and working on it months ahead, and seeing it evolve into a locally run LLM AI tool for Incident Response was both challenging and rewarding.
What are you looking forward to most post-graduation?
I’m most excited about working in the field and progressing toward my career goals. My ultimate aspiration is to become a Chief Information Security Officer, and graduation is the first step toward achieving that.
Alyssa Eunice Sagum
Business Administration – School of Business
Alyssa Eunice Sagum grew up in the Philippines and worked in Dubai, UAE, before moving to Canada to pursue her dream of advancing her education. Her passion for marketing and dedication to personal growth led her to SAIT’s Business Administration diploma program, where she majored in Marketing.
While at SAIT, Alyssa fully immersed herself in campus life, taking on roles such as SAIT Global Student Ambassador, LEADS Student Leader for SAIT GEO, a Peer Mentor, and Marketing Director for Enactus SAIT. She also represented her peers as a School of Business Ambassador. Her leadership and contributions were recognized with the SAITSA Supporter Award, the Spring and Fall 2024 Mentorship Hero Awards, and the Exemplary Leadership as an International Student in Canada Award by the Legislative Assembly of Alberta.
Alyssa gained hands-on marketing experience through her program and has worked with non-profit organizations, applying her skills to drive meaningful impact. She now continues her career in the higher education sector.
For Alyssa, SAIT was more than a place to study—it was a community where she thrived, connected, and discovered her purpose.
What advice do you have for students to succeed?
Define success on your own terms and don’t let others' expectations limit you. Get involved beyond the classroom because volunteering and networking open unexpected doors.
What was your favourite thing about being a student #HereAtSAIT?
The community. SAIT is more than academics; it's about growth, connections and opportunities. Whether through classes, events, or volunteering, I was constantly learning from those around me and building relationships that made my time at SAIT truly rewarding.
What are you looking forward to most post-graduation?
I am excited to give back. As a student, I thrived because of the support and guidance I received. Now, working in higher education, I have the chance to do the same by helping students navigate their journey and create meaningful experiences, just as others did for me.
