How to add backgrounds

Not sure how to add your new backgrounds? We’ve found some resources to help you get them added to Teams and/or Zoom.

  1. Copy the following address: %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Teams\Backgrounds.
  2. Paste that address into File Explorer’s address bar and hit enter.
  3. You should jump to a folder with all the default Teams images.
  4. Add the SAIT background image you saved into this folder.
  5. Start or join a Teams video meeting using the desktop application (this feature isn't available on the web or mobile version).
  6. Click on the three dots (the advanced features icon).
  7. Select “Show background” — the image you added should appear at the bottom of the list of images.

  2. In the Finder Menu at the top of your screen, click ‘Go’ while holding down the OPTION key.
  3. Click ‘LIBRARY’.
  4. Navigate to the following folder: /Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Teams/Backgrounds/Uploads.
  5. Add the background image you saved into this folder.
  6. Start or join a Teams video meeting using the desktop application (this feature isn't available on the web or mobile version).
  7. Click on the three dots (the advanced features icon).
  8. Select “Show background” — the image you added should appear at the bottom of the list of images.

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.

We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
