CEOWORLD names SAIT to two global lists
of the top hospitality management and
top business schools for 2022
2022 is off to a strong start for the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT). The School of Hospitality and Tourism and School of Business are again named to CEOWORLD Magazine's best in the world — a testament to their exceptional degree-granting, diploma and certificate programs.
SAIT's School of Hospitality and Tourism ranks #18 on CEOWORLD Magazine's 2022 list of Best Hospitality and Hotel Management Schools in the World, making it the only Canadian school on the list.
"Rising to 18 in the global rankings is an accomplishment at the best of times,” says the school's dean, James Overall. "Doing so during a pandemic and immense change to the hospitality industry is a testament to the instructors and team — always leading with a student-first approach.”
Overall adds, "The importance of the business focus in hospitality and tourism has never been more vital. Industry is quickly moving into recovery mode and the demand for talent is expected to be significant in the years ahead.”
Known for its living classrooms, industry-trained instructors and first-rate partnerships with some of the best and most exclusive hospitality brands — including practicum partnerships with some of Calgary's leading hotels, Overall says the announcement further positions SAIT and Alberta as a top choice for hospitality management education.
Canada's top hospitality management school is also home to a world-class culinary institute, which recently announced the reopening of its live culinary classrooms across the city including The Highwood, The Tastemarket and other favourites inside the John Ware building on main SAIT campus.
Additionally, SAIT's School of Business is named on CEOWORLD's Best Business Schools In The World For 2022 — #2 in Canada and #51 in the world. Last year, the School of Business ranked #52.
"Maintaining our ranking on this list for 2022 is a tremendous achievement and I am proud of the work our team does every day to contribute to this ranking and ultimately, student success,” says Janet Segato, Dean of the School of Business. "Outstanding applied learning experiences, inclusive and engaging classrooms, connection with industry, and a community of care for our students and employees is what sets us apart.”
SAIT's School of Business is one of the largest business schools in Western Canada, and puts significant stock in all things industry-driven, starting with instruction delivered by faculty who are experts in the field.
Over the years, programming has grown to offer increased opportunities for SAIT business students to meaningfully connect to industry and apply their knowledge through work-integrated learning — from their first semester through to practicums and final capstone projects.
