With a Master of Education from the University of Calgary, Lisa’s career in post-secondary education began at Red Deer Polytechnic instructing Early Learning and Child Care. She went on to lead the development and launch of an Early Childhood Education Leadership Development certificate — an apprenticeship-style program delivered through an Immersive Workplace Learning model.

While completing her Doctor of Education, Lisa joined SAIT as the program lead for early childhood education programming to contribute to building an educated workforce for the future of the child care profession.

“If I wasn’t doing this job, I would be a consultant helping families navigate the complex child care system to find quality care that suits their needs.”

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.

We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3.
