Creating Blocks for Statistics

At SAIT, there is a good deal of data available for us to present to the public which speaks to the quality of our programs and the outcomes of our learners. For this purpose, we have an eye-catching animated block that helps us display this information in a clear and concise package.

Steps for creating a stats block

  1. Login to the CMS and navigate to your _blocks-for-page folder, and click on Add Content > Block > Stats.
  2. Give the block a kebab-case-name (all lowercase, connected with hyphens) starting with stats-
    (example: stats-program-grad-rates)
  3. Under Type, select whether you want a Basic or Animated stats block.
  4. Under Title, give the block a title (optional - this will not appear on the page).
  5. Expand the stats group, and under Heading add the statistic as a percentage.
    (example: 95%)
  6. Under Description, add the supporting text.
    (example: SAIT graduate employment rate)
  7.  If you wish to provide a link to a supporting page or document, expand the link field. By default, stats blocks do not require a link.
  8. Click Preview Draft in the upper right corner to save your changes, then click Submit > Check Content and Submit.
  9. You can now return to the page you are editing and insert your Stats block.

Oki, Âba wathtech, Danit'ada, Tawnshi, Hello.

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.

We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
