Âba Wathtech (hello), My name is Thomas Snow (Wathu Wida). I am from Stony Nakoda Nation, and I am an Indigenous knowledge keeper. I have a Bachelor of Art’s from the University of Calgary and an MBA in Indigenous Leadership from the Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University.

I have been Natoysopoyii’s Indigenous Knowledge Keeper since 2023. As a knowledge keeper, I hold traditional teachings passed on to me from the Elders in my community. I will continue to share and pass down these teachings and traditions with students to connect to their culture and ancestors.

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.

We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
