Join us on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, for the annual International Women’s Day Celebration featuring keynote speaker, Gayathri Shukla, engaging workshops, catered lunch and awards ceremony, and a cocktail hour with a signature cocktail crafted by the School of Tourism & Hospitality.

This year’s powerful theme of #AccelerateAction calls upon us to acknowledge the strategies, resources and activities that positively contribute to women’s. Let’s come together to #AccelerateAction.

Virtual keynote speaker

Gayathri Shukla, Diversity, Leadership & Human-Centred Design Expert

Our virtual keynote presenter, Gayathri Shukla, will share engaging stories and practical takeaways on how to strengthen personal leadership styles, embrace an authentic voice, and take decisive steps that continue to progress gender equality. Through empathy, curiosity, and respect, participants will gain actionable insights to create a workplace where everyone’s experience is valued and celebrated.

Workshops

It's time to #AccelerateAction, and there will be a workshop of interest for everyone! They cover a diverse range of themes and topics, including personal growth and wellbeing, leadership and professional networking, women’s empowerment and health, continuous learning, gender diversity in aviation, and skills development such as car maintenance and allyship in male-dominated industries.

How to register

  1. Follow the registration link to Eventbrite.
  2. Browse all available sessions and select "Reserve a Spot." 
  3. Complete the registration information using your SAIT email address. Select "Register" and "Complete order".
  4. If you have registered for a virtual session, you will receive three emails.
    • Download the calendar invite via the email from Jenna Nakamura, which includes the time and Zoom link for the event.
    • If you don’t receive an email, you will need to log in to Eventbrite to access the Zoom link.
  5. For in-person events, you will receive one email.
    • Download the calendar invite via the Eventbrite confirmation email, which includes the time and location.

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.

We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
