We appreciate your assistance in complying with the City of Calgary’s guidelines and requirements.
Update: Friday, June 14, 2024
SAIT continues to observe the City of Calgary’s stage four water restrictions, and is supporting water use for essential functions only. Repair work on the water main break is ongoing, and the City has asked Calgarians to further reduce their water consumption.
You can reduce your water usage by washing dishes and doing laundry on full loads only, turning the tap off when soaping hands or brushing teeth, and keeping showers to three minutes or less. Find more suggestions on Calgary.ca.
Thank you for your assistance in complying with the City’s guidelines for stage four water restrictions. It is essential the community works together to help ensure there is enough water available for drinking, fire-fighting and other essential needs.

SAIT is observing the City of Calgary’s critical water supply alert. All of SAIT’s campuses are open, and we are committed to following the stage four water restrictions in effect and supporting water use for essential functions only.
Please do all you can to limit your own water consumption. SAIT is not under a boil-water advisory, and drinking fountains and water-bottle-filling stations are safe to drink from, but to conserve water, please use bottled water where available.
On campus, until the restrictions are lifted, please:
- delay using the showers in the changing rooms in the sprung structure
- delay from using the showers, doing laundry, or washing dishes in residence
- turn off taps when not in use.
School of Hospitality and Tourism classes will be limiting water use where possible.
We appreciate your assistance in complying with the City of Calgary’s guidelines for stage four water restrictions, and we will keep our students and employees updated on the situation.

Oki, Âba wathtech, Danit'ada, Tawnshi, Hello.
SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.
We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
