How to submit your educational documents

The method used to submit your documents will depend on whether you are a domestic or an international applicant.

Follow the steps below to upload documents during the application process.

  1. Enter the Education History section while in the SAIT branded portion of the application.
  2. Select Edit next to the appropriate school.
  3. Select Choose file to locate the document saved on your computer or device.
  4. Click Upload.

If this was missed during your application, follow the steps below to submit transcripts and supporting evidence through your domestic admissions portal.

  1. Log in to your Admissions Portal Status Page.
  2. Choose the appropriate application from the dropdown menu.
  3. Scroll down and select the document you will be uploading from the dropdown menu under Upload Materials.
  4. Select Choose file to locate the document saved on your computer or device.
  5. Click Upload.

To submit your educational documents during your application:

  1. Select Upload other documents (optional)
  2. Choose the document type from the drop-down menu
  3. Upload documents
  4. Click Save

Educational documents can be added to your application anytime by logging into your account at sait.vasuniverse.com. To do so: 

  1. Select the application under View applications
  2. Click Upload document
  3. Choose the document type from the drop-down menu.
  4. Upload documents
  5. Click Save

Once all the required educational documents have been submitted, the assessment will be completed within six weeks.

You can monitor your application through your application portal. 

Alternative evaluations and assessments

You can save time in the admission process by uploading one of the following evaluation or assessments.

Accepted educational documents

Please submit copies of your original secondary school/ or post-secondary documents with certified English translations. Scan your original documents in colour. 

Make sure to include the following:

  • secondary and/or post-secondary transcripts, mark sheets, and examination results
  • secondary diploma or graduation certificate and/or post-secondary degree
  • an explanation of the grading scale (often found on the back or the front page of certifications or transcripts)
  • original educational documents (in the original language.) You must provide certified translations if your original documents are not English-issued.

Your transcripts must show at least three years of consecutive education (secondary and/or post-secondary).

If your name has changed, we will require validation of the name change (marriage certificate, etc.). 

You must include additional information if you have documents from the following countries or educational systems:

  • Original graduation certificate (may be requested)
  • Original academic transcript

  • Original graduation diploma (e.g. Diplôme du Baccalauréat)
  • Final examination results (Relevé de Notes de l'Examen Final) issued by Ministère de l'Education Nationale/Académie Régionale listing all final exam results

Original secondary school documents required:

  • Intermediate Examination Certificate and Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and mark sheets issued by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education.

Original post-secondary documents required:

  • Final or provisional graduation certificate (diploma, bachelor, masters)
  • Individual mark sheet or result card for each year of study listing all subjects and grades

  • Certificate of Completion of Secondary Education (Certificado de Conclusão do Ensino Médio) or Title of Technician (Título de Técnico)

  • Graduation Certificate (Título de Tecnólogo, Bacharel or Licenciado)
  • Academic transcript (Histórico Escolar)

  • State, All India Board, CBSE official marks statements and final examination certificate for both 10 and 12. CISCE pass certificate for ICSE and ISC.

Original post-secondary documents required:

  • University education:
    • Final or provisional degree certificates issued by the degree-awarding institution (Bachelor, Master's)
    • Statement of marks for each year or an academic transcript listing all subjects, issued by the degree-awarding institution
  • Technical or professional education:
    • Final or provisional diploma (e.g. Diploma in Engineering awarded by a State Board of Technical Education or any 10+3 diploma)
    • State board, examining body transcript or statement of marks for each year listing all subjects and marks

Original post-secondary documents required:

  • Graduation certificate (Diploma, Sarjana, Magister)
  • Academic transcript

  • Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training:
    • Certificates or diplomas issued by the institution attended
    • Mark sheets or academic transcript issued by Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training

Original secondary school documents required:

  • West African Senior School Certificate (WASSC) issued by West African Examinations Council (WAEC) or Senior School Certificate (SSC) issued by National Examinations Council (NECO)
  • Scratch card (Card Serial Number and PIN number)

Original post-secondary documents required:

  • National and Higher National Diplomas:
    • Diploma and academic transcript
If you've completed a Higher National Diploma, you must provide your National Diploma and transcripts.
  • University education:
    • Degree certificate and academic transcript
If you had direct entry into the second year, you must provide prior study documentation.

Original secondary school documents required:
  • Certificate of examination (grade 10 and 12) and mark sheet or result card by the issuing State Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education
Original post-secondary documents required:
  • University education:
    • Final or provisional degree certificates (Bachelor, Master's)
    • Statement of marks for each year or an academic transcript listing all subjects, issued by the degree-awarding institution
  • State Board of Technical Education:
    • Final or provisional diploma
    • Statement of marks for each year or an academic transcript listing all subjects

Original secondary school documents required:
  • Graduation diploma (Katibayan)
  • Academic record (e.g. Form 137-A)
Original post-secondary documents required:
  • Graduation certificate, diploma, degree
  • Academic record

If your education does not fall under the new K to 12 system, we strongly suggest that you submit post-secondary education.

Original secondary school documents required:
  • High School Certificate of Graduation issued in English
  • Academic transcript issued in English
Original post-secondary documents required:
  • Graduation certificate issued in English (diploma, associate, bachelor, masters)
  • Academic transcript issued in English

Original post-secondary documents required:

  • Graduation certificate for:
    • Diploma (Bằng Tốt Nghiệp Cao Đẳng,) or
    • Bachelor Degree (Bằng Cử Nhân,) or
    • Master's Degree (Bằng Thạc sĩ)
  • Academic transcript

SAIT may also accept courses completed at certain international post-secondary institutions

Certified translation

All documentation must be translated into English, signed and stamped by a certified translator

We will not accept translations from an associate member.

We will accept translations completed by an official translator in your home country.

The Academic Credentials Assessment Service (ACAS) service is no longer available, but we will continue to accept previous ACAS evaluations for admission.

English proficiency requirement

If your primary language of instruction was not English, you will be required to submit a valid English proficiency assessment test score completed within the last 12 months.

If you don't meet the English proficiency requirement, consider English Language Foundations.

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.

We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
