Before you begin
Before you begin your application, make sure:
- You know the start date and term you wish to apply for.
- You meet the admission requirements of the program.
- You have a valid Visa or MasterCard to pay the non-refundable online application fee of $120 for domestic students or $175 for international students.
When to apply
Programs tend to fill up quickly, so we recommend you apply well in advance.
The table below refers to the general application deadline for most programs — please be aware of the following before you apply.
- Some programs close for application earlier than others — review your preferred program's page to find the application deadline.
- Applications for the following School of Health and Public Safety programs will close before the domestic application deadline to provide applicants time to complete the required entrance tests:
- Application closing dates do not apply to English Language Foundations or Academic Upgrading.
- Applications for Open Studies close one week before the start date for domestic applicants and two months before the start date for international applicants.
- Review your program's page to find your scheduled start date — your tuition deadline is based on when your classes start.
Some programs only begin in select terms. You'll find available intakes for a program on the program page.
❗️Domestic applications can be accepted after the application deadline. Check your preferred program to see if the deadline has been extended.

Applying for more than one program
As a domestic applicant, you will need to submit and pay for a separate application if you wish to be considered for more than one program. We will review each application you submit – make sure to provide official transcripts and/or sufficient evidence to show the appropriate admission requirements for all your chosen programs.
As an international applicant, you may select up to two programs per application when applying. You will have to choose your second program before you submit and pay for your application. Learn more about adding a second-choice program to your international application.

Oki, Âba wathtech, Danit'ada, Tawnshi, Hello.
SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.
We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
