Heather Magotiaux has served as a senior executive in higher education for more than two decades. She brings to SAIT her expertise in strategic planning, governance, marketing and communications, resource development, and reputation management. An award-winning and results-oriented leader who builds high-performing teams, Magotiaux is a passionate advocate for the transformative power of higher education.
As Vice President, Student Affairs & External Relations, Magotiaux supports the student journey from recruitment through to alumni engagement. Her portfolio includes Strategic Planning and Enrolment Management, Office of the Registrar, Student Services, General Counsel, Office of the Ombudsperson, Marketing and Communications, and Advancement including Industry Engagement.
Currently, Magotiaux serves on the Board for Junior Achievement Southern Alberta, supports SAIT’s work with the Business-Higher Education Roundtable, and is a member of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce National Workforce Strategies Committee.
Previously Magotiaux served as CEO of the Saskatchewan Health and Research Foundation; Vice President, University Advancement at the University of Saskatchewan; and Vice President, Advancement at Saint Francis Xavier University.

We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
