Janet comes to SAIT from Yukon University in Whitehorse, where she served as Vice President, Academic, and Provost. For nearly 30 years, Janet has focused her career on student success in a post-secondary system environment that aligns with industry’s current and emerging needs. Janet holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Technology from the University of Phoenix in Arizona.
Janet’s exceptional leadership in higher education in Canada and internationally is a testament to her passion for teaching excellence, scholarly activity, digital transformation, applied research, and lifelong learning. She is incredibly proud of her past work supporting women's education at Dubai Women’s College. She has continued as a resource for those providing educational options for the disadvantaged, marginalized, and those living in remote environments.
As Vice President, Academic, Janet builds on our commitment to ensure SAIT’s programs continue to be of high quality, meet the diverse needs of learners and industry, and are aligned with SAIT’s vision of being a global leader in applied education.

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.
We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
