Located in Begin Tower, Lounge 22 offers floor-to-ceiling windows with a noteworthy view of the mountains and Calgary’s beautiful city centre.

From stand-up reception to family-style dining to banquet seating — celebrate your big day in Lounge 22 with up to 40 guests. Take advantage of our hotel rooms and penthouse suite - making the 22nd floor exclusive to you and your guests.

This room offers an eighty-inch TV with a built-in sound system to set the ambience, chairs and five-foot tables for you and your guests — with a layout of your choice.

A wedding setup at SAIT's Macdonald Hall

Macdonald Hall

With its beautiful high ceilings and elegant balcony, Macdonald Hall is our most romantic space on campus. Its 1920s architecture will create an experience for both you and your guests that is nowhere short of unique.

This room offers a ten-foot screen with rear projection, black Chiavari chairs and five-foot round tables for your guests. Five-foot rectangular tables are available for your buffet or registration table and eight-foot rectangular tables for your head table. Should you wish for something different, we can outsource to accommodate your needs best.

In addition, we provide you with a media centre, which includes a computer, laptop connection, podium with microphone, and built-in audio cables to play ambient music.

Irene Lewis Atrium

This open space accommodates large-scale ceremonies and receptions while allowing everyone to take the moment. The exposed façade of Heritage Hall will enhance your picture-perfect memories as you say your vows. The three-story-high glass ceilings create an ambience that will wow your guests as the natural light dims into the night.

Let us know your vision, and we will contact our vendors for all the little extras. We welcome you to use our wedding essentials inventory, including sled chairs, five-foot round tables, eight-foot rectangular tables, podium and built-in audio system for your ambient music and speeches.

We have catering located right here on campus for your convenience.

With each service we will provide,

  • tableware settings - including plates, cutlery and glassware 
  • napkins and tablecloths - available in white and/or black
  • a bar set up - including a bartender, glassware and appropriate mix (one bar is provided per 100 people).

All food and beverages, with the exception of a cake, must be provided through curated catering; however, we are happy to work with you to create an à la carte menu and bring in additional spirits and wine should you wish to personalize your reception. 

A cake-cutting fee of $5 per person will be changed if applicable.

Lounge 22 Reception | $700
Small, intimate weddings can be breathtaking, too! SAIT’s Lounge 22, located in Begin Tower — offers floor-to-ceiling windows with mountain and city views. Take in the view with up to 40 of your guests.

Macdonald Hall Reception | $2,000
For weddings with an attendance of up to 175 guests, Macdonald Hall is the perfect space. The Heritage Hall café and foyer are included in this service, where your guests can mingle and enjoy a drink or two with our soft seating lounge area.

Heritage Hall Package | $3,000
Host your ceremony in the south end of the Irene Lewis Atrium and your reception in Macdonald Hall. Included in this package are the Heritage Hall café and foyer.

Love Macdonald Hall? Host both your ceremony and reception in it! When you finish your ceremony, have your usher navigate your guests to the Heritage Hall café and foyer while we transform Macdonald Hall into your reception.

Accommodations

Located on the 22nd floor of the Begin Tower, our penthouse suite offers you a fantastic city view with its floor-to-ceiling windows — making it a picture-perfect space for getting ready.

The penthouse includes two bedrooms, two kitchens, two living areas, a dining room, and two full bathrooms and can be separated into two private spaces. Receive a discount when booking two or more consecutive nights.

SAIT also offers Residence for your guests, including a corporate studio or suite (bedroom plus den) on our hoteling floor or one of our residential units as a lower-cost alternative.

Photography on campus

SAIT has become a popular site for photography (weddings, photoshoots, and even broadcasting) due to its picturesque architecture and spectacular views. Photographers wishing to photograph on SAIT campus are welcome to do so by following the guidelines below.

The photographer must contact Conference Services to book a time and location on campus. This allows SAIT to schedule accordingly while minimizing interruptions with other sessions. Please note that our office operates within business hours (Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm), and it is recommended that photographers connect three business days before the photoshoot.

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.

We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3.
