Testing for Admission to SAIT

SAIT Testing Services offers SAIT admission testing for students/potential students for admission to SAIT programs. These admission tests are for entry into SAIT Programs only. They are not considered equivalent to Alberta Education diploma examinations.

The following admission tests are available (click on the links below to review the study guide for each test):

There is a $50 fee for each assessment. All fees must be paid prior to taking any test. Payment must be made at the SAIT Cashiers office, MC201 (Heart Building). Please be advised that payments can only be taken during regular office hours; please call 403.284.7248 for hours of operation.

Applicants must achieve a grade of 65% or higher. Applicants requesting prerequisite testing must be over 17 years of age prior to the date of registration, or have achieved their high school diploma or equivalent.

All testing takes place at SAIT, Room MC221, Heart Building.  Please bring the following with you when you write your test:

  • Picture ID -Exams will not be released without valid picture identification.
  • Pencil
  • Calculator (Please note that calculators may or may not be permitted for certain exams. Please contact SAIT Testing regarding the type of calculator allowed).

You should write the tests as soon possible after applying to the program. This allows you to complete any required supplemental modules before entering your program.
Students with temporary or permanent physical, learning or other disabilities may be provided accommodations for exams. Please contact Accessibility Services at 403.774.5093 for more information.

Invigilation Services for Instructors
SAIT Instructors can use Testing Services for make-up exams for their students. Instructors are required to complete a Testing Services invigilation form, and to deliver and pick up exams.

External Exam Invigilation Services
External exam invigilation is also offered through SAIT Testing Services. For a $100 dollar sitting fee, Testing Services will distribute, invigilate and collect examinations for external businesses, other universities and colleges.  In order to book exams, individuals must contact with their institutions regarding exam invigilation request forms, contact information required, and courier or mailing fees prior to contacting SAIT Testing Services. Copies of the examinations, proper instructions and procedures will be required. Exam sitting and courier fees must be paid by the examinee or sending institution prior to writing.
