CLASA Mandate The main objectives of the Chinook Lodge Aboriginal Student Alliance (CLASA) are to: - Create a welcoming environment for Aboriginal students attending SAIT
- Encourage Aboriginal students to become proactive in representing themselves through student based initiatives
- Participate in the development and implementation of services, and events that will contribute to Aboriginal students' academic success
To become a member of CLASA, stop into Chinook Lodge and speak to one of the CLASA executive. Their office is N108G. CLASA Executive The Chinook Lodge Aboriginal Student Alliance is run by an executive of students who are selected by CLASA members in consultation with Chinook Lodge personnel. All SAIT Aboriginal students are encouraged to join CLASA and to seek one of these Executive positions. Chief Call and chair meetings all meetings for CLASA. - Coordinate and be responsible for voting and elections for CLASA.
- Attend club committee meetings as a voting member.
- Maintain all documents regarding all activities regarding CLASA.
- Call meetings with executive committee twice per month.
- Call general meetings with CLASA membership once per month.
- Appoint sub-committees for events, for fundraising and for whatever else he/she sees fit.
Co-Chief Assist the Chief Executive in all duties deemed necessary. - Perform as acting Chief if he/she is not available.
Financial Executive Oversee the financial activities of CLASA. - Insure that all financial transactions and funding are accounted for.
- Prepare and deliver monthly financial reports to the Chinook Lodge Student Advisor.
Activities Executive Co-ordinate all student-based activities and events for CLASA. - Co-ordinate CLASA members in volunteering positions or events.
- Develop and distribute posters and publications regarding activities and events hosted by CLASA throughout the SAIT community.
