 | SAIT - Innovation Awards The Innovation Awards recognize innovative endeavours undertaken by SAIT students and staff. First established in 2002, the Innovation Awards have been generously sponsored by DIRTT Environmental Solutions, a company that creates sustainable, economically viable workspaces since 2005. DIRTT Student Innovation Award  | This award recognizes students who have achieved a high standard of excellence on an innovative project within their program of study. Each year, two $1,500 awards are available. | Award Selection Criteria Application Process
Award Selection Criteria: Awarded to a SAIT student or team that meets the following criteria: - Full-time student(s) that will be graduating from either a diploma, certificate, degree or apprenticeship program.
- Has demonstrated capacity for innovative thinking in a project, preferably within a project course, that solves an existing industry problem or meets an unsolved customer need.
- The project must provide a positive impact on the environment and be capable of commercialization in the future.
Application Process To apply for a DIRTT Student Innovation Award, please download and complete the 2011 DIRTT Student Innovation Award Application Form (*.doc). Fax your completed nomination form to 403.210.4373 or drop off to Applied Research and Innovation Services in Room MD 115. A soft/electronic copy of the completed nomination form must also be sent to innovation.awards@sait.ca.
DIRTT Staff Innovation Awards  | There are two awards available to SAIT staff, each with a value of $3,000. | Technical Implementation Trailblazer Application Process
| Technical Implementation | This $3,000 award honours superior technical implementation of a new concept, process, or idea. | Awarded to an individual or team that meets the following criteria: - SAIT staff or faculty member(s).
- Applied new and/or improved methodologies and/or technologies relating to the specific project.
- Demonstrated measurable value or benefit to SAIT or our clients.
| Trailblazer | This $3,000 award honours visionaries who chart new territories and demonstrate "out of the box" thinking. | Awarded to an individual or team that meets the following criteria: - SAIT staff or faculty member(s).
- Has inspired/encouraged others to make positive changes.
- Has overcome adversity in order to make changes or a difference.
- Demonstrated measurable value or benefit to his/her department or our clients.
