Program Description Print Media is everywhere. From magazines and billboards to packaging and snowboards, the list of printed items seems endless. Canada’s printing and graphic communications industry is one of the most diverse and widespread information-based manufacturing industries in the country. The Graphic Communications and Print Technology program at SAIT is designed to prepare you for a career in this exciting field. Using the most recent software you will learn page layout and design, through to printing and finishing on our high tech systems. Our graduates receive quality training from experienced instructors who are in regular contact with industry professionals at the local and national levels. This ensures you will gain all the skills required to thrive in this industry, as listed by the Canadian Printing Industry Sector Council. You will receive hands on training, using state of the art equipment in order to have all the production, business and communication skills needed to be successful in the printing and graphic communications industry. Your Career Our graduates may find employment in a number of professional environments including but not limited to corporate communications, digital and commercial printing companies, screen companies and design agencies. Admission Requirements Alberta High School Diploma or equivalent, with the following admission requirements or equivalents: Selection To be included in selection, applications must be submitted prior to March 1, along with all supporting documents. Early Admission Early admission will be offered to all applicants who have achieved or will achieve a minimum average of 70 % in the admission requirements. All other qualified applicants will go to selection. Selection Criteria If the program is oversubscribed the following criteria will take effect after March 1: - Applicants will be evaluated and placed in rank order by the Selection Committee, based on English Language Arts 30-1 or English Language Arts 30-2 or equivalent achievements.
- Successful completion of a Grade 11 math course is strongly advised for all applicants.

Selection Priority - Early Admission
- Selection Criteria
If oversubscribed, selection will commence on the first business day of March. If on the first business day of March the program is not oversubscribed, admission will commence using minimum admission requirements as stated in the Admission Requirements. Student Success Students with higher secondary or post-secondary marks usually experience greater success in SAIT programs. Progression Students must attain a PGPA and/or a CGPA of 2.0 or better in each semester and pass the necessary prerequisite courses to progress through the program. To qualify for graduation, students must pass all courses, attain a CGPA of 2.0 or better and complete course requirements within the prescribed timelines. Credentials After successfully completing this program, graduates will receive a SAIT diploma in Graphic Communications and Print Technology . Accreditation There are no formal accreditation arrangements at this time. Please contact the School of Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) for more information.
