The four-year Bachelor of Science (Post Diploma) is offered by Athabasca University's Centre for Science. Students must have successfully completed an approved science-related technician or technology diploma from a college or institution of technology, or have provincial designation as a technician or technologist, before they enroll in the BSc(PD). The BSc(PD) is designed to allow students to continue studies towards a science degree from either the technician or technologist level. RRU is offering students two ways to complete this BAPC degree: an on-campus 1-year (12 months) accelerated program of studies beginning with an online pre-residency starting on September 12, 2012, and an online 2-year program beginning with its first short 3-week on-campus residency starting April 30, 2012. Graduates with a SAIT Radio, Television, and Broadcast News diploma (Radio or Television or Broadcast News options) program may transfer to the Bachelor of Communication Studies degree program (Degree Partnersip with SAIT). This diploma will be credited toward eight of the required twenty full-course equivalents toward the BCS degree. The remaining twelve full-course equivalents must include all University of Calgary requirements for the BCS. If you want to attempt to complete the post-diploma BCS in two years you will have to complete two full-course equivalents in Spring or Summer sessions; otherwise you may need to take an additional year. This Bachelor of Applied Management (BAM) degree program is extremely flexible and suited to two year diploma graduates wanting to receive their degree in two years (4 one term semesters). Admission requirements for this degree include successful completion of any two year program with an overall average of 70%. The two years of study at UNB would be specifically designed to build upon their studies and focus acquired through their college program.
