Two-Year Diplomas
Transfer Institution Transfer Option Supporting Information
University of Calgary Graduates of 2-year diplomas will be awarded 5 full course equivalents.  Students transferring from other institutions into programs at the University of Calgary must make themselves aware of the appropriate required (prerequisite) preparation for courses they wish to take.  This may be done by consulting the Courses of Instruction section of this Calendar.  Students receiving specified transfer credit status for particular courses should be aware that this does not necessarily imply that exact course equivalence is being awarded, but that this may indicate an equivalent level of experience in a subject area.  Updated January 2, 2008  ACAT FORMAL AGREEMENT 89900.

University of Lethbridge Graduates of 2-year diplomas, who are interested in transferring to the University of Lethbridge for degree completion, have the option of enrolling in either the Management Co-op or Arts and Science Co-op programs, depending upon their diploma. Baking and Pastry Arts

University of New Brunswick, Saint John Bachelor of Applied Management This BAM degree program is extremely flexible and suited to two year diploma graduates wanting to receive their degrees in two years (4 one term semesters).  Admission requirements for this degree include successful completion of any two year program with an overall average of 70%.  The two years of study at UNB would be specifically designed to build upon their studies and focus acquired through their college program.  This program would be of interest to those college graduates who would like to progress their career in management.  Updated November 7, 2007  FORMAL AGREEMENT.

Hospitality Management
Transfer Institution Transfer Option Supporting Information
Capilano University Bachelor of Tourism Management Graduates of the HMGT diploma program may be awarded up to 57 transfer credits towards CU’s 120 credit Bachelor of Tourism Management degree. Completion of the SAIT diploma does not imply guaranteed admission or preferential entry to the receiving institution. SAIT students will have to meet the entry requirements of the receiving institution to be accepted into the BTM program. The minimum GPA is 3.0 or equivalent. Conrad N. Hilton College, University of Houston Bachelor of Science, Hotel and Restaurant Management SAIT HMGT graduates are eligible for advanced credit towards this B.S. degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management provided the SAIT coursework meets their transferability requirements.  Contact UHouston at 1-800-797-4566 or click on International Admissions for further information.  Updated October 31, 2008  SPECIFIC RECOGNITION.


Griffith University Bachelor of Business (International Tourism and Hotel Management), Nathan Campus 6 semester program. 3 semesters at GU for completion of Bachelor of Business. Royal Roads University Bachelor of Arts in International Hotel Management SAIT graduates of the Hospitality Management diploma program are eligible to enter the third year of the Bachelor of Arts in International Hotel Management program provided all entrance criteria are met and space remains available in the RRU program.  Updated February 17, 2010 FORMAL AGREEMENT.


University of Calgary Bachelor of Hotel and Resort Management

University of Lethbridge Bachelor of Management (Post-Diploma) HMGT graduates will be given the opportunity to complete the 20-24 course requirements for the Bachelor of Management (Post-diploma) degree program. Students are guaranteed admission with a diploma GPA of 3.0 or higher. Graduates with a diploma GPA below 3.0 may be admitted in the second round of admissions. Eight majors are available in the Post-Diploma Bachelor of Management program. Bridging courses are required to be taken at either SAIT or UofL. (check the link). Students presenting other approved diplomas with a major other than Accounting may select any major from this list except Accounting. Students admitted to the Post-Diploma B.Mgt. Program are also eligible for participation in the Management Co-operative Education program. An approved college diploma can be no more than eight years old at the point of admission. University of Lethbridge Pre-Bachelor of Management/ Bachelor of Education (available in General Management only) Ever thought about becoming a teacher? Students begin the program classified as Pre-Post-Diploma B.Mgt./B.Ed. in the Faculty of Management. After completion of 10 courses, including Education 2500, students must apply to the Faculty of Education. Students are not officially in the Post-Diploma Combined Degrees program until they have been admitted to BOTH the Faculty of Management and the Faculty of Education. Once admitted to both the Faculty of Management and the Faculty of Education students complete the remaining 25 courses in order to meet program requirements for the Bachelor of Management and the Bachelor of Education degrees. Admission is competitive. Admission is guaranteed with a diploma GPA of at least 3.0, and applicants with a diploma GPA between 2.0 and 2.99 may be considered depending on individual circumstances. (on a 4.0 scale). Students admitted to the Pre-Post-Diploma B.Mgt./B.Ed. program are also eligible for participation in the Management Co-operative Education program. University of New Brunswick, Saint John Bachelor of Applied Management in Hospitality and Tourism The BAMHT is a degree program that combines a university education with hands-on experience and offers a co-op option. The BAMHT is a true "2+2" program. Community College graduates need a two year diploma in: a) travel and tourism, b) hotel/restaurant or food/beverage management, c) hospitality management, or d) equivalent. Students applying from SAIT are guaranteed a place in the program providing they have graduated with a "B" (70%) average. Students enter directly into Year Three of the BAMHT degree, providing they have taken two courses in Economics. Updated May 25, 2007  FORMAL AGREEMENT.


University of Victoria Bachelor of Commerce Applicants from SAIT's two-year Hospitality Management or Hotel and Restaurant Management diploma programs may be eligible for entry to the Bachelor of Commerce  program hospitality management specialization, if they meet the following criteria: The diploma is completed with a minimum of B (5.0 GPA on nine-point scale) average, as determined by the Undergraduate Admissions and Records. The average as calculated by the Undergraduate Admissions and Records is a cumulative GPA, which includes all course attempts. Except for the pre-admitted students, the diploma is granted by August 31 of the year for which the student is applying for admission. Final official documentation will be required. The diploma is awarded by a college that offers the “BC Provincial Hospitality Management Diploma Program” or its equivalent. Completion of a microeconomics course (equivalent to UVic ECON 103: Principles of Microeconomics), 1.5 units of university-level mathematics (not to include UVic Math 120 or equivalent) and an acceptable statistics course (equivalent to STAT 252) each with a minimum grade of B-. Satisfaction of the Undergraduate English Requirements. Vancouver Community College Bachelor of Hospitality Management Students who graduate from SAIT's Hospitality Management diploma with a GPA of 3.0 would be eligible to enter year 3 of VCC's applied degree in Hospitality ManagementUpdated May 30, 2008  SPECIFIC RECOGNITION.


Vancouver Island University (formerly Malaspina University-College) Bachelor of Hospitality Management Upon application to the VIU's Bachelor of Hospitality Management degree, VIU agrees to recognize a block of 60 credits earned by any student who has successfully completed SAIT's Hospitality Management diploma. Degree completion requirements include an additional 60 credits of academic work and at least 9 credits of internship or cooperative work experience. Refer to the link above for details. Thompson Rivers University Bachelor of Tourism Management TVT graduates could expect to receive up to 48 credits towards the BTM degree. University of New Brunswick, Saint John Bachelor of Applied Management in Hospitality and Tourism Transfer entry 2+2 allows graduates with an average of 70% to transfer credit from an approved two-year hospitality and tourism diploma from a partner college (SAIT) and complete two more years to graduate with the Bachelor of Applied Management in Hospitality and Tourism.
