University of Calgary

Graduates of 2-year diplomas will be awarded up to 5 full junior open options.  Students transferring from other institutions into programs at the University of Calgary must make themselves aware of the appropriate required (prerequisite) preparation for courses they wish to take.  This may be done by consulting the Courses of Instruction section of this Calendar. Students receiving specified transfer credit status for particular courses should be aware that this does not necessarily imply that exact course equivalence is being awarded, but that this may indicate an equivalent level of experience in a subject area.  Updated December 8, 2008  ACAT FORMAL AGREEMENT 89900.

SAIT Polytechnic Bachelor of Applied Technology, Petroleum Engineering A two-year SAIT diploma in Petroleum Engineering Technology, Chemical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Instrumentation Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Power Engineering Technology, or similar engineering technology, with a grade point average of 2.5 or better is the normal entrance requirement.  Updated October 24, 2008  INTERNAL OPTION.

Athabasca University Bachelor of Science (Post Diploma) The four-year Bachelor of Science (Post Diploma) is offered by Athabasca University's Centre for Science. Students must have successfully completed an approved science-related technician or technology diploma from a college or institution of technology, or have provincial designation as a technician or technologist, before they enroll in the BScPD. The BScPD is designed to allow students to continue studies towards a science degree from either the technician or technologist level. Students complete the program regulations in effect at the time of their enrolment. British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) Bachelor of Technology - Technology Management Entrance requirement into BCIT’s BTech Technology Management states that a two-year post-secondary diploma of technology is the main requirement, therefore graduates of this SAIT diploma are eligible to apply along with English 12 or equivalent or English-language proficiency, two years of relevant work experience subject to departmental approval, and a personal interview with Program Head. Alternate delivery methods are available. Updated July 4, 2007  GENERAL POLICY.


Cape Breton University Bachelor of Engineering Technology Individuals seeking admission to Cape Breton University's Bachelor of Engineering Technology - Environmental Studies (BET) (all courses available by distance) must have completed this SAIT Chemical Engineering Technology diploma. Transfer students need to complete a minimum of 36 credits at CBU for the completion of this degree. Lakehead University Bachelor of Engineering The Faculty of Engineering at Lakehead University offers post-diploma programs which enable qualified engineering technology graduates from accredited Canadian technology programs to obtain engineering degrees.The post-diploma programs consist of two years of full-time study preceded by four transition courses taken during July and August. Memorial University Bachelor of Technology Memorial University offers a Bachelor of Technology program, administered by the Marine Institute, with admission available to graduates of nationally accredited applied science/engineering technology and health science technology diploma programs. Graduates of the Chemical Engineering Technology diploma program may satisfy the requirements for the degree by successfully completing thirteen courses (39 credit hours) offered by a number of the University's faculties and schools, including a technical project and report. The degree is offered through distance delivery, with all the required courses, together with a number of elective choices, delivered using Internet-based technology.  Updated August 28, 2009 FORMAL AGREEMENT


NAIT Bachelor of Technology in Technology Management The Bachelor of Technology degree bridges the gap between technologists and engineers. Specializations are currently offered in Resources and Environmental Management, Applied Building Science, Electrical and Electronics Engineering Technology, and Mechanical and Manufacturing Technology, as well as General Studies options. Open to graduates of an accredited or recognized Applied Science or Engineering Technology program with a minimum GPA of 2.3. Updated April 30. 2008  GENERAL POLICY.


Royal Roads University Bachelor of Science Royal Roads University agrees to facilitate the block transfer of students from SAIT with appropriate prerequisite qualifications and grades into the 3rd year of the Bachelor of Science programs. Chemical Engineering Technology graduates must also complete two courses in Biology in addition to their diploma. Click on Bachelor's Degree for additional information. Thompson Rivers University Bachelor of Technology: Trades and Technology Leadership Graduates of any two year technology program, who also have a minimum of 4 years experience related to their program of study, will be eligible to apply up to 60 credits towards the Bachelor of Technology in Trades and Technology Leadership degree program at Thompson Rivers University. Updated October 24, 2008 FORMAL AGREEMENT.


University of New Brunswick, Saint John Bachelor of Applied Management This Bachelor of Applied Management (BAM) degree program is extremely flexible and suited to two year diploma graduates wanting to receive their degree in two years (4 one-term semesters). Admission requirements for this degree include successful completion of any two year program with an overall average of 70%. The two years of study at University of New Brunswick would be specifically designed to build upon their studies and focus acquired through their college program.  This program would be of interest to those college graduates who would like to progress their career in management.  Updated November 7, 2007  FORMAL AGREEMENT.

Camosun College Computer Engineering Summer Bridge to University of Victoria Electrical Engineering Technology graduates are eligible to apply for the Summer Intake Computer Engineering Bridge program (Late June to December) offered by Camosun with the full support and co-operation of the University of Victoria, provided all admission requirements are met. University of Alberta Bachelor of Science - Land Reclamation major

SAIT students who graduate with the Environmental Technology diploma are eligible for a block transfer into this BSc in Environmental and Conservation Sciences, Land Reclamation major.  SAIT students may receive up to 43.5 credits (nearly one and a half years) provided the minimum grade is achieved in each transferable course.  SPECIFIC RECOGNITION.



University of New Brunswick, Saint John Bachelor of Applied Management This Bachelor of Applied Management (BAM) degree program is extremely flexible and suited to two year diploma graduates wanting to receive their degree in two years (4 one term semesters). Admission requirements for this degree include successful completion of any two year program with an overall average of 70%. Acceptance from there into level 5 (third year) of the B.Eng. program requires the completion of the Design option with a minimum GPA of 70% in the second year and successful completion of two higher-level math courses which are offered in term 4 in addition to the term 4 curriculum of the Design option. University of Regina Bachelor of Applied Science (Petroleum Systems Engineering) Graduates of this SAIT program are eligible to apply to the Petroleum Systems Engineering program at University of Regina. Students, who are admitted, having attended another post-secondary institution, will have their transcripts evaluated to determine those courses in which credit can be given. For Canadian Technical Schools, a maximum of 10 classes may be awarded as transfer credit; minimum grade is 70%.  SPECIFIC RECOGNITION.


The University of Texas at Austin Bachelor of Science, Petroleum Engineering Graduates of the Petroleum Engineering Technology program are invited to apply to the Cockrell School of Engineering, Petroleum Engineering program in their second year of their program at SAIT. Transfer credit is awarded on a course-by-course basis. Scholarship assistance is available for the successful candidates who are accepted at The University of Texas. Please check with the Academic Chair or the Articulation Coordinator before applying. University of Wyoming Bachelor of Science (Petroleum Engineering) College transfer students with 30 or more transferable hours of credit must have at least a 2.00 cumulative grade point average for admission to University of Wyoming. Coursework from regionally accredited institutions will be accepted as transfer credit if substantially equivalent to courses offered by University of Wyoming. Each graduate transcript is evaluated individually for the Petroleum Engineering Program with typical advanced credit of 48 credits awarded.   SPECIFIC RECOGNITION.
