Post Secondary Credit Assessment allows you, as a student, to apply for transfer credit or direct entry into a program based on previous post-secondary courses or related work experience.
You may use this assessment service if you are registered in a Full time, Continuing Education, or Certificate program. The following credit assessment options are available: (Click on the links to get more information for the credit you seek.)
What about Advance Credit and Student Loan funding?
Although you may have been granted advance credit, you must still be enrolled in a full-course load to qualify for provincial and federal student loans and grants.
Alberta Student Finance requires that students be registered in 60% of a full course load to remain eligible for financial assistance. Please check with SAIT's Customer Service Department (403) 284-SAIT (7248), regarding the number of credit hours of classes per week that are required in your program to maintain your eligibility.
What else should I know?
Credit granted is indicated by "CR" on the SAIT transcript but is not used to calculate the grade point average (GPA).
There are some courses for which credit is not granted. It is the responsibility of the student to check with the appropriate Academic Coordinator or the PLAR office to determine if a particular course is creditable.
PLAR does not consider High School courses for SAIT credit.
For all SAIT Communication courses, literature/fiction/poetry courses alone will not be considered for transfer credit.
You may use this assessment service if you are registered in a Full time, Continuing Education, or Certificate program.
