New Canadian (Landed Immigrant) with Foreign documentation
How do I apply for admission to SAIT as a new Canadian?
Applying to SAIT is a simple four-step process:
1. Complete the SAIT application form (link takes you to the ApplyAlberta website)
2. Choose from one of the following options:
- Option A: Attach the following official documentation to your application form:
- Official Secondary Transcripts (refer to example) (link missing) with a seal or stamp from the institution and an explanation of the grading system.
- Copy of official Post-secondary Transcripts (refer to example) (link missing) with a seal or stamp from the institution and an explanation of the grading system (if you have attended a post-secondary institution)
- Calendar descriptions of post-secondary courses relevant for SAIT admission purposes (English, math, science)
- Copy of diploma/degree (if available)
- Any Canadian equivalency to English 30 and Math 30
- Photocopies of your status in Canada
- NOTE: All documentation needs to be translated into English. You may translate the documents: however, an official translator (link missing) must approve, sign, and stamp the translation. Only documents that have been signed and stamped will be accepted. If you have had your documentation translated by an official translator in your home country, a copy of the certification must be enclosed with your documentation.
- Option B: If you are unable to provide sufficient documentation as indicated above, you can complete the Admission Requirement Equivalency Assessment offered through the Learner Assessment and Skills Centre (LASC), located in MC221, Heart Building, SAIT Campus. Please Note: If English is not your first language and you are applying with foreign documentation, we recommend that you take the Canadian Language Benchmark Assessment (CLBA) in place of the English 30 admission requirement. The CLBA will assess your English proficiency in such areas as reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
- For more information or to schedule an appointment, contact the LASC Testing Centre at:
Phone: 403.210.4283 Email: testing@sait.ca
3. Enclose with your application, the required application fee plus the required International Assessment fee (payable to SAIT Customer Services in Canadian dollars).
$50 (application fee) + $150 (International assessment fee) = $200 (Landed Immigrant, with foreign documentation, Application Fee)
4. Wait for your results.
It will take approximately 14 business days for an international assessment of your documentation. You will be sent a letter indicating the results of your SAIT International Assessment.
