English Language Foundations - Ready To Teach


Ready to Teach (RTT) is aimed at professionally trained immigrants who would like to share their knowledge with SAIT Polytechnic students. It gives participants the opportunity to integrate into the Alberta post secondary instructional labour force, and prepares them with the tools necessary to successfully communicate with a diverse group of learners. The goal of RTT is to integrate participants into the Alberta post secondary instructional labour force, taking advantage of previous formal training, abilities and past experiences.
Program Description
- Ten-week language upgrading/instructional skills program
- Four-week practicum with a regional post secondary educational/training institute
- Classroom observations
- Mentorship through CRIEC
- Career management
- Follow-up at 90 and 180 days after completion of the training program
- Certificate of completion
Eligibility Requirements
Candidates are required to: - Hold a Master's or PhD degree in a technical discipline
- Be an experienced technical instructor
- Be an internationally-educated professional
- Demonstrate a CLB level 7 in all skills
- Be enthusiastic about learning the Canadian post secondary culture and language
