Course Credit for Work Experience   
| If you have significant experience in a specialized field or have taken courses offered by non-traditional educational organizations, you can apply for credit at SAIT by submitting relevant documentation for assessment. Relevent documents include:
- A Resume
- Job descriptions
- Letter of reference
- Samples of work
- Copies of certificates or documents verifying previous training
A $150 non-fundable fee per course assessment is payable.
An initial evaluation will be done which the student will need to confirm with the academic coordinator.
How do I apply? You may apply for credit in three easy steps:
- Fill out a PLAR Application Form (*.pdf document; opens new browser window) and provide 3 copies to the PLAR office. These forms are also available from the PLAR office, Heart Building MC221. (See location map) OR phone 1.403. 284.7025 or email plar@sait.ca and have the form faxed or emailed to you.
- Attach appropriate documentation (course outlines, transcripts, and assessment materials).
- Pay in ADVANCE a credit assessment fee. (See fee schedule below)
How much does it cost?
Fees can be paid by cash, cheque or credit card at the Cashier's office (Customer Service, Heart Building, MC201) and are as follows:
- $150 per course assessment of previous relevant work experience
All Post Secondary Credit Assessment fees are non-refundable.
What is the deadline for application?
Assessments for advance credit should be completed prior to the Student Services Drop/Add deadline.
