Welding Engineering Technology Diploma Courses SAIT.ca - Continuing Education The welding industry is rapidly changing. Advancing welding technology and changing technical standards are creating a need for trained welding specialists. The Welding Engineering Technology program graduates meet this growing need. As a specialist on the engineering team, the technologist not only understands the welding processes used in metal fabrication, but is also trained in quality control, welding metallurgy, codes, fabrication techniques, inspection, drafting, weld design, management/supervision and computer skills. Practical welding skills are also developed to gain an in-depth understanding of welding processes. The Welding Engineering Technology program is the only two-year nationally accredited welding engineering technology program in Canada. Some of the courses for the first and second semester in this program are offered on campus and through correspondence, and can be taken before being accepted into the program. You will need to ensure that all admission requirements have been met prior to applying for a seat on-campus in order to complete this program.
