The Spirit of Success There are many reasons to give to SAIT – to honour your relatives, to support programs that you feel passionately about or to leave a legacy for future generations. At the heart of every donation is the desire to make a difference in students’ lives. There are many ways you can pass on your support to us:

Annual Giving Each year, thousands of donors choose to support SAIT through our annual giving campaign. Funds raised through these efforts will go directly to the SAIT Opportunities Fund which helps to provide financial assistance to current SAIT students, educational materials and equipment including the most up-to-date technology needed as learning tools and improving classrooms and other learning spaces on campus. When you give to the annual giving program, you are not only supporting the success of the students who study at SAIT, you are also supporting the communities these highly skilled graduates will work in. Immediate cash donations to the SAIT Opportunities Fund can be made on our Donate Now page or by filling out this pledge form (*.pdf; opens new browser window). “This is the institution I was raised in and grew up in. I like to give back to those people who helped me through the tough times.” - Rick Lazowski, dedicated donor to the SAIT Opportunities Fund

Legacy Giving Your gift to SAIT can be the start of your personal legacy and an inspiration for our students, their families and other people considering leaving a gift to SAIT. Making the choice to leave a legacy gift to SAIT now, means you can be actively involved in how that gift is used in the future. The Heritage Hall Society is a dedicated group of people, passionate about SAIT and the power of education, who have planned their legacies and future gifts to SAIT. The many ways to give a legacy gift to SAIT include: - Cash
- Wills and bequests
- Publicly traded securities - fill out the Gift of Securities form (pdf opens in new window).
- RRSPs and RRIFs
- Life Insurance
- Real Estate
- Collections (art, books, etc.)
- Gifts in kind (equipment and learning tools)
For more information on legacy giving, please contact Neil Williams at 403.284.7377. “I don’t need to leave a huge mark; I just need to know that I'm helping somebody else achieve their dreams.” - Karin Simpson, Heritage Hall Society member and Legacy donor

Corporate Partnerships Partnerships with corporations in the community have been a cornerstone of SAIT's approach to learning since its early beginnings. These partnerships not only create a valuable bridge between the classroom and the real world of work for our students but also between industry and the workers of the future. From recruitment and hiring possibilities to research collaboration and technology transfer, we at SAIT would like to work with your organization to ensure your strategic and philanthropic goals are being met while providing vital support to SAIT students. To find out more about the benefits to a strategic partnership with SAIT, please contact Rick Harland at 403.210.4443. “These donations pay such great dividends; we end up hiring some of these people.” - Darrel Sailer, SAIT Power Engineering Technology grad (Class of ’82), now in charge of training and recruiting for Shell’s Caroline and Burnt Timber plants.

Memorial Awards Leaving a gift to SAIT in honour of a loved one is a way of remembering a special person in your life while supporting the next generation. The Memorial Legacy Fund was established to accept financial contributions in memory of loved ones. All gifts are deposited into a designated account as part of SAIT's Memorial Legacy Fund. This fund is a pooled scholarship endowment that funds scholarships from the accrued interest. The awards are presented annually in memory of all loved ones and on behalf of the participating groups and donors. For more information on creating a memorial award, please contact Neil Williams at 403.284.7377. “…winning the award and what it stands for is more important than the cash. To win the award and have that connection to the Towers family, that’s priceless.” - Jordan Clay, winner of the Benjamin Towers Memorial Scholarship in 2008

Student Awards SAIT has a long and proud tradition of providing scholarships to students with financial needs. Investments by individuals, companies and organizations have helped countless students who would otherwise have been unable to attend SAIT. As a result, a total of 3,100 awards were given to SAIT students last year totaling $3.4 million. With the on-going commitment of donors, SAIT's scholarship program continues to ensure that SAIT learners have the financial resources they need to further their education and achieve their career goals. Conveniently give now by using SAIT's online donation form or for further information about student awards, please contact Jason Demers at 403.210.5827. “I am fully committed to doing my best in my studies here at SAIT. I sincerely thank you for this award and for supporting young adults such as myself as we learn and achieve success in our programs.” - Sean Sanger, CVT ‘09

US Donors With over 155,000 graduates living in countries throughout the world, SAIT is proud of our international representation and grateful for the generous and continued support of our donors from around the world. Gifts from alumni and friends outside Canada are always welcome and in many cases are eligible for favorable tax treatment – particularly those made from the United States. The Canada - United States Tax Treaty Article XXI(5) provides that United States taxpayers may claim income tax deductions on their US federal income tax return for gifts they make to SAIT if the donor/taxpayer or a member of his/her family is, or was, enrolled at SAIT. As a US donor, you may make your donation by visiting our online giving page or downloading our pledge form (*.pdf; opens new browser window) and mailing it back to us along with your gift.
