  • How do I become an apprentice?

You must first be employed in the field in which you want to register as an apprentice. Your employer must be willing to sponsor you through the process. You can then contact Alberta Apprentice and Industry Training at 403.297.6457 to start the registration process. Visit Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training at tradesecrets.gov.ab.ca for more information.

  • I have no experience in the trade I want to go in to. What are my options?

You can take one of our full-time programs, Diesel Equipment Technician or  Automotive Service Technology, which will provide the technical training and hands-on experience you need; and your time in school will count towards your working hours. Upon graduation, you will be well on your way in your apprenticeship.

  • Do I have to be an apprentice to enroll at SAIT?

No, you can register for any of our diploma or certificate programs and find employment upon graduation.

  • I'm interested in a program but I'm not sure if it's for me.

You are invited to spend a day with us on campus through our Student for a Day program. It's an excellent opportunity to talk to instructors, current students, see our facilities and ask questions. Call 403.284.8471 for information and to register.

  • What transfer options are available?

SAIT has numerous agreements with universities and colleges around the world. Visit transfer options for more information.

  • I need some upgrading to meet the admission requirements.

You can take academic upgrading right here at SAIT. Visit the Centre for Academic Learner Services (CALS) for more information.

  • How much does it cost to come to SAIT?

That depends on the program you are interested in. Please refer to our tuition and fees table. Remember to budget for books and tools as well.

  • What is the application process? How do I submit my transcripts?

  • Do you have information on scholarships?

  • How can I find residence?

You can live on the main campus at SAIT Residence. You can also visit saitsa.com and look for off-campus housing listings.

  • Is there a job posting for SAIT students? Is there a job posting for employers looking for SAIT students?

Yes to both! Visit Student Employment Services to access the online job board and for other student employment services.

  • Do you repair vehicles?

Yes.  The School of Transportation can provide mechanical repair services on most North American made automobiles 8 years or newer. There are limitations due to curriculum and class scheduling.
