Improved livestock identification and tracking devices will benefit livestock industry
The livestock industry may have a new tool to help with the accuracy, environmental and financial challenges of tracking cattle.  Students in SAIT Polytechnic’s School of Manufacturing and Automation developed ultra high frequency radio frequency identification (UHF RFID) tags for the Radio Frequency Identification Lab as an applied research project. School of Manufacturing and Automation Launches New Programs for Fall and Winter 2011-12
Starting today we are now taking applications for the Fall 2011 intake of the Welding Technician and Millwrighting Technician programs.  These programs are not technically new as they have run once successfully, but this is the first time we will be offering both the Fall and Winter intakes.  Both programs are 24-weeks in length and provide training in the first and second period of their corresponding trades (Welder and Millwright).  Upon successful completion, graduates will have achieved a SAIT Polytechnic Certificate of Achievement and upon securing employment will be eligible to become an apprentice in their respective trades.  Follow the links to find out more about the Millwrighting Technician program and the Welding Technician program.
