School of Manufacturing and Automation - Non-Destructive Testing Foundations

The field of Non-Destructive Testing is a vital to virtually all industries including: oil and gas, transportation (including aviation), utilities, construction and manufacturing. Identifying potential mechanical and structural failures before they happen, can save time, money and lives. The Non-Destructive Testing Foundations program (NNDT) is a 15 week foundational program that is designed to teach you the five basic non-destructive testing methods used in the field. You will learn hands-on techniques to conduct tests on various materials using radiography, ultrasonics, eddy current, magnetic particle and liquid penetrant methods. Upon successful completion of this program you will be eligible to begin working in the field and to take your required Canadian General Standards Board (CGSB) exams to become certified. In addition to the Non-Destructive Testing Foundations program, there are many Non-Destructive Testing Professional Development courses available.
