SAIT.ca - School of Information and Communications Technologies - Overview

For many of you, this is your first time at a post-secondary educational institution. You are at the beginning of an exciting journey of learning. Like any journey, it has ups and downs, trials and tribulations, but with sustained effort, you will have a successful conclusion. Post-secondary education puts far more responsibility on the learner than some of your earlier experiences may have done. This means that you have greater freedom, but also greater accountability in achieving the outcome that you want.
Some of you will put in the minimum required to complete your program. You will find, however, that the more effort you put into the program, the more you will get out of it. Besides the monetary benefits of receiving awards and being first in line for the best jobs, there is also the reward of achievement and knowing that you have really mastered your subjects. This simply gives you more confidence and an enthusiasm that will add to your success.
SAIT provides the vehicle, but you have to drive it. The advantage is that this vehicle is fully loaded. You have instructors, material, curriculum, laboratories, student services, e-Learning and many other supporting areas to enhance your success. These additional support areas will be covered in your orientation or are identified in this website. Use this as a guideline to give you a map for your journey. It identifies many of the dangerous areas that could lead to your failure, as well as shortcuts to help make your journey easier and safer.
The School of Information and Communications Technologies wishes you all the best in your studies. May this journey lead you to all the success that you deserve and desire.
