School of Hospitality and Tourism - Overview


The School of Hospitality and Tourism provides training to 1,000 Culinary Arts and Hospitality and Tourism students a year in programming, ranging from diplomas and certificates to continuing education, apprenticeship and customized corporate training. The School Hospitality and Tourism employs approximately 100 full-time faculty and staff offering state-of-the-art training facilities.

We have been building a road to "Further Your Passion" for over 30 years. SAIT Polytechnic's School of Hospitality and Tourism's focus is towards continuous improvement, excellent customer service and creative solutions to the new challenges in the workplace and industry requirements. All programs are constantly updated through industry partnerships with various accrediting organizations and we work closely with business and industry to maximize employment opportunities for our graduates.
Education and training in the School of Hospitality and Tourism at SAIT Polytechnic provides an excellent entry into the knowledge-based economy and our graduates enjoy an employment rate of 100% in full-time related Hospitality and Tourism employment.
Students who meet the minimum GPA requirements have the option of continuing their education towards university degree programs through one of our degree program partners in Canada: University of Calgary, University of Victoria, University of Lethbridge, University of New Brunswick, Athabasca University or with Griffith University in Australia.
We also participate in international student Culinary Arts competitions throughout the world and are actively involved in student and faculty exchanges in United Kingdom, Austria, and Australia.
Hospitality and Tourism students have studied all over the world, participating in Culinary Study Tours and Travel and Tourism tours to France, Spain, Australia, Thailand, Canada, United States, Central America, Chile, Greece, Italy, Spain, Germany, Egypt, China, Turkey and Portugal. We work intently with business and industry to ensure our direction in education match employment opportunities for the graduates of all Hospitality and Tourism programs.
