The Fieldbus Foundation and SAIT (Southern Alberta Institute of Technology) signed a partnership to establish a FOUNDATION fieldbus (FF) training facility on the SAIT campus in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. This agreement was threefold as it mandated SAIT to develop certified FF curriculum, to deliver this curriculum to end users in Western Canada, and to establish a demonstration site for FF technology. SAIT began in the fall of 2000 to construct the fieldbus lab facility. The result was a lab housing 8 unique fieldbus training stations each with 4 FF devices from 4 differing manufacturers. Over 20 different manufacturers of fieldbus equipment are represented in the lab.
