PTOV-116: Petroleum Industry Overview MacPhail School of Energy


SAIT's comprehensive petroleum overview course introduces participants to the basics of the Petroleum Industry. Using non-technical language the concepts of oil and gas exploration, production, transportation and petroleum refining are explored.
The course covers the basic principles and technologies used by petroleum geologists, geophysicists, drillers, reservoir and production engineers in the search of hydrocarbons. Upon completion of the course participants will have a general understanding of the oil and gas industry, its components, processes and technologies, and be able to relate their knowledge to the operations of petroleum production and service companies.
